Birdshit drummer Defence, also known as the fruitty drummer, why they called him this no one actually knows. Defence started playing Drums in the Raging Haze where Nicity found him and took him over to Birdshit. Defence has written over half of Birdshit's songs all of them which are called Birdshit in it's finest. Songs entitled "Bite Us", "If I Didn't (Love You So Much, I'd Rip Your Heart Out Of Your Fuckin' Chest)", "The Javelin Song" and the never recorded "By The Time" were all written by this man. Currently Defence had spoke about starting a concept band, one which never really took off.
But in the words of Defence himself
From his humble roots as a crap keyboard-drummer, Defense has risen to grand heights as a profoundly lazy but nontheless totally comitted musician.
Learning guitar and drums in his high school years led to rapid local notoriety within two bands over 3 years: undecided 5-piece "The Raging Haze" and delusional adrenaline junkies "Birshit".
Combining his love of high-speed crunching with a certain way with words, he contributed to Birdshit's back catalogue of originals, penning anthems such as "Bite us", and last-minute unreleased memoriam "By the time".
He now resides in the dark kingdom of the Britons, and occasionally wields a flaming staff by the light of the winter moon (see myspace for details - not yet applicable).
His recent musical interests include weird time signatures, drum and bass, tribal drumming, and a cool black metal band from Nottingham called Evil Scarecrow - dude, you HAVE to hear "Morbid Witch" off their LP (available? check for presence @ myspace).
He offers the following comment (prounounced with black metal growl@144bpm):
"Working with Birdshit taught me a lot about myself, I learned that there's no such thing as a bad guitarist or a bad sound system - if you've got enough balls and shit loads of determination...oh yeah, and patience. Lots of patience."
He added:
"Fuck that, man - Birdshit fucking rocked in its day! Fuck school, man, fuck politics, fuck fashion - fuck the people who said we couldn't make it. Fuck you all, man, just fucking bite us!"
